My wife and I are spending the weekend in Denver, and while the abundance of cops terrify me on the road*, otherwise I love this city. There is SO much to do here. Tonight, we spent an evening laughing at Madcap Theater; an improv comedy club similar to the TV show "Who's line is it anyway?" Definitely worth visiting if you're ever in the area. Tomorrow we're headed to either the zoo or the aquarium (my wife still hasn't made up her mind), and testdriving some cars, then probably having dinner at a Korean BBQ.

Being my first vacation in a couple years, I've gotta make the most out of these 2 & a half days. Anyone in the area have any recommendations for can't-miss fun for Sunday, before we head home?

*Denver is the only place I've ever been pulled over for "looking like I didn't know where I was going." It was a construction zone with cones everywhere, so I slowed down to go through an intersection to make sure I didn't pull into the wrong place. I didn't break any laws. This is also the only place I've ever seen cops randomly searching vehicles — saw it happen on the road twice just today.

Come to Colorado Springs if you want to see a lot of natural tourist sites (Garden of the Gods, Helen Hunt Falls, Seven Falls, etc.) which is only like an hour or two away from Denver.

Home is the opposite direction, so I doubt I'll have time this trip, but I'd like to someday. I've seen Garden of the Gods, and it was pretty impressive; it's been quite a few years, though.

wow I wonder what happened out there. I lived there 3 years and got pulled over once driving at 4am after work. 12 years ago or so. And this was driving around in some crazy old stuff too.

don't go to the aquarium. Zoo is much, much better!!

You could head out to Red Rocks and wander around, then head over to the Morrison Inn for some ok Mexican food white let sitting on their outdoor deck listening to some live music.

During our couple days here, in a mid-scale hotel in the Tech Center, there has literally been at least one (more than one on several occasions) car pulled over within a block of our hotel when we arrived or departed. I've lost count of how many cops we've seen. At least 50 during these past 2 days. All but 2 of the people who were pulled over were getting our cars searched.

They've always had a strong presence here when I've been down, but I've never seen them like this. I'm guessing it's because of the recent marijuana legalization.

Yup, the zoo won, but boy was it crowded. Took a solid half hour to make it through the ticket line. Worth it though!

weird, I worked in the Tech Center too at a bar! Just wild, I will look at some numbers when I am at work tomorrow and see what the deal is. Weed was almost legal in my time there too. Maybe some other drug has taken hold after the boom era I was there...
